A periodic is one of the earliest and most simplistic types of kilns available: a heated chamber protected from outside air by thick, temperature-resistant walls. The heated chamber often contains racks or platforms that hold products for cone crusher heating. The kiln usually contains only one opening for placing and retrieving these products, possibly with exhaust vents located in other areas. A rock crusher is a device used to crush rocks into smaller pieces, usually for gravel or some other road or building application. Most rock crushers have a hopper at the top -- a container which holds the rock above the crusher and uses ice maker gravity to feed it in. Alternately, rock crushers can use a belt drive to continuously transport the rock into the crusher. At the bottom of nearly every type of crusher is a hole. Once a rock has been pressed into small enough pieces to fit through the magnetic separator. To use a jaw crusher, rock must first be dropped between the machine's metal plates.
